Overview

Within the hydronic heating industry there was widespread concern that poor quality installations were compromising consumer satisfaction and safety. In response, CSA Group published this Code to establish uniformity in the installation of hydronic heating systems. The B214 Code also provides a reference point that proper installation of heating systems will lead to good performance, serviceability and longevity.

This third edition standard specifies minimum installation requirements and is referenced in 2010 National Building Code of Canada. The Code targets hydronic heating system designers, contractors, installers, regulatory agencies and building inspectors.
