Designed to give participants a solid foundation with which to effectively navigate, interpret and apply the rules and requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. This course will be of particular interest to engineers, technologists and other electrical industry professionals who have limited familiarity with the Code. Outlining specific made-in-Canada requirements, and referencing the substantial changes and updates to the 2015 edition of the Canadian Electrical Code, the course provides detailed instruction on the influence of the CE Code on the design, inspection, installation or maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
The Canadian Electrical Code, Part I has been developed with input from a broad cross-section of electrical industry experts and with cooperation from all provinces, territories and several key jurisdictions across Canada. The CE Code is referenced by, and itself references, a large number of related electrical safety and performance standards. It is the definitive reference guiding safe electrical installation and maintenance procedures. Jurisdictions across Canada adopt the code as a model code for regulation, as is or with provincial or territorial interpretations. The course will also identify within jurisdictions applicable variations, interpretations or amendments
