Cancellation requests received more than 14 calendar days before start date of the event will receive a full refund less a $100 administration fee. Cancellation requests received within the 14 calendar days prior to the event start date will be non-refundable.

Substitution of event attendee will be permitted at any time prior to the start date. Participant substitutions are permitted at any time prior to the start of the event. Please ensure that the substitute has met any prerequisite requirements.

Payment must be received in full before the event. CSA reserves the right to cancel any event and will, in such case, fully refund all registration fees. No liability is assumed by the organizers for changes in conference dates, content, speakers or venue.

Course Overview

This course is aimed at those involved at every level of hazardous location and equipment. Students will gain a solid understanding of the safety of hazardous location equipment, current safety legislation and codes of practice. Types of equipment used, protection methods and maintenance of hazardous areas are also covered.

Day 1 introduces Hazardous Area Terminology and Concepts and covers the certification process in detail from a manufacturer’s perspective. The student notes also cover the syllabus of the IECEx 001 Competence Module for those intending to take the knowledge examination. The certification process is covered in detail from a manufacturer’s perspective.

Days 2 and 3 provide detailed treatment of the main methods of Hazardous Area Protection discussed from an end-user’s perspective. Students will be taught how to visually identify any damage or deterioration of explosion protected equipment. Additionally they will learn how to monitor equipment in manufacturing plants and other organizations that will help them identify explosion hazards and risks.
