Natural gas and propane have long been the primary energy sources for most residential, commercial and industrial consumers. While abundant and affordable, both gases are potentially volatile and should only be handled by workers possessing a specific skill set. These workers include gas technicians and fitters who install, inspect, repair and maintain gas lines and gas equipment such as meters, regulators and heating units.
CSA Group's experience in developing the B149 Natural Gas and Propane Code has given us the expertise and familiarity to develop the training curriculum that gas technicians and fitters will need to pass their certification exams. In total, the CSA Group Gas Trade curriculum program includes 33 units, over 4,000 pages and more than 1,400 illustrations.
Curriculum includes training manuals structured to three certifications:
GAS TRADE TRAINING MATERIALS (3):
Introductory program - Provides an entry-level foundation of theoretical and practical skills.
Gas Trade 3 Student Package Introductory program consists of units 1 through 9 plus the unit 4 Ontario supplement.
