Onsite Training

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to develop and implement an operations and maintenance (O&M)program to help ensure your health care facility is operating as safely and efficiently as possible
  • Understand how key concepts from the supporting modules can be integrated into your regular maintenance practices

Course Overview

Hospitals and health care facilities are complex buildings, subject to hundreds of codes, standards, regulations and guidelines that address a variety of issues, including on-going operations and maintenance. Developing, implementing and maintaining an effective operations and maintenance (O&M) plan can contribute to improved patient care outcomes as well as helping provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. An effective O&M plan also helps demonstrate due diligence, an important component of a facility’s overall risk management strategy.

This custom-tailored onsite training program will guide facility managers through a ˝ day session focused on the creation of a coordinated cooperation and maintenance program (COMP) based on CSA Z8002 Operation & maintenance of health care facilities. Then, facility maintenance and operations staff are guided through a series of modules, custom-selected by facility management, that helps ensure critical systems are being operated and maintained according to CSA Z8002 specifications. The resulting knowledge shared across your organization can help demonstrate due diligence, conformity and compliance in the operation and maintenance of your health care facility.
