Water treatment systems are being developed to reduce the health risks associated with non-potable water. This dual-standard is an installation guide specifying the design, installation, maintenance and field testing of non-potable water systems for applications such as flushing toilets, irrigating lawns and gardens, washing automobiles, showering, bathing, washing clothes, or heating and cooling.
CAN/CSA-B128.1/B128.2 complements another CSA Group standard: CSA B128.3 - Performance of Non-Potable Water Treatment Systems -- which specifies water systems requirements for treating greywater or waste water for reuse in other applications. Both standards target manufacturers and other users of non-potable water reuse products and can be used for conformity assessment of products.
