Course Overview

It is the employer’s responsibility to determine the presence of any potential hazards within the work environment. If harmful airborne chemicals/particles and infectious agents are present, an employer is required to have a Respiratory Protection Program. Development and implementation starts with a comprehensive hazard identification and assessment based on your specific organizational needs and follows with a detailed implementation plan that defines the roles and responsibilities, training requirements, respirator selection and fit testing protocols; tools that address any potential respiratory hazard.

Training on effective program implementation is critical to protecting your workforce. Using practical exercises and case studies, participants will understand and analyze key strategies that form the foundation for the development and implementation of an effective Respiratory Protection Program that is consistent with the requirements of the newly-updated Z94.4 Standard - Selection, Use; Care of Respirators. Links to the CSA Z1000 Standard - Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems will be provided for reference.
